レザーを素材に、絵画、照明、空間表現を行うアーティスト。
革という素材が持つ質感や痕跡、時間による変化に着目し、異なる色や質感を重ね合わせながら、有機的な構成を生み出す。レザーシェードを用いた照明作品など、素材そのものの存在感を活かした制作を展開。
作品制作と並行して空間デザインも手掛け、自然素材と和洋の要素を組み合わせた、静けさと温度感のある空間表現を探求。
また、日本のものづくりに焦点を当てたインテリアプロダクトレーベル TAKUMI TOKYO のディレクションも行う。
現在は四国の自然豊かな環境を拠点に、動植物の生命感や土地に蓄積された時間の気配を制作思想として取り込みながら、素材と構造を通して感覚を形にすることを試みている。
Works with leather as a primary material, creating artworks, lighting pieces, and spatial expressions.
Focusing on the textures, traces, and transformations that emerge through time, layered compositions are formed through the combination of different colors and materials. Lighting works featuring handcrafted leather shades further explore the presence and tactile quality inherent in the material itself.
Alongside art-making, also engages in spatial design, exploring quiet and atmospheric environments where natural materials and Japanese-Western aesthetics coexist in balance.
Also directs TAKUMI TOKYO, an interior product label focused on Japanese craftsmanship and material culture.
Currently based in the rich natural surroundings of Shikoku, drawing inspiration from the vitality of plants and animals, as well as the traces of time embedded within the land. Through materials and structure, seeks to translate these sensations into physical form.
